My Favorite Thrifted Finds (as of late)
wearing: vintage sweatshirt, $18 from Wasteland
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I love vintage clothing. I've mentioned it before, but just to give you some background- I worked at a charity thrift shop in high school for volunteer hours. At the time I thought it was incredibly boring, but in hindsight it's really what led to my love of thrifting and vintage clothes.
The "deals" in L.A. are definitely harder to find, but I've still gotten some great pieces since moving here. I also LOVE thrifting when I travel- I was home recently and got an amazing yellow sweater and graphic sweatshirt. The black Manolo kitten heels pictured below are from my trip to Atlanta earlier this year.
By the way, that bag is from Goodwill (in Santa Monica) two years ago and to this day it is still one of my favorite purchases ever. These hot pink pants are from the Fairfax Flea Market on Melrose. They were $25 (came with a matching top but it was very unattractive/unflattering) and needed a little tailoring, but even with that expense they were still affordable. Also, these Chanel kitten heels are from The Real Real and I LOVE them.
wearing: yellow sweater, $8 Tampa thrift shop (sunnies here)
Just to recap how inexpensive thrifting can be:
$18 graphic sweatshirt
$10 black bag from Goodwill
$25 hot pink silk blend pants
$8 yellow sweater
I realize that other items in my outfit are pricier, but a good outfit is all about the mix. I honestly think it's boring when an outfit is head to toe "new" or off the rack. It's so unrealistic for most of us, and it can really take the personality out of your look.
If you're disappointed by the clothing selection at your local thrift shops, there are some great options online. These are my favorite sites:
