No Denim Weekend Look
Anyone else feel like they're always throwing on the same jean jacket over their outfit? Or wearing the same pair of jeans to everything?? Every time I wear something "safe" aka incredibly basic, I always regret it later and wish I'd taken more risks. This is especially true on weekends, when I'm tempted to wear the same jean jacket, pair of jeans, or denim shorts over and over again. Weekend plans are supposed to be FUN, which means your outfit needs to be, too. My theory is that the more confident you feel in what you wear, the more confident you are at whatever event you're attending- even if it's just a coffee date.
There's nothing wrong with having great denim pieces you love, but if you wear them too often you're not really making the most out of your wardrobe. I've been challenging myself not to wear as much denim lately and get use out of some things I've had in my closet but haven't worn yet.
That's where these shorts come in. Yes, these do look kind of like pajama bottoms, but that makes them perfect for weekend wear when styled correctly. We were having a chilly morning in L.A. when I wore this, but on a warmer day I'd pair these with a band tee. I wore my shorts with an oversized vintage sweater, but wanted to dress my look up so I added gold necklaces and velvet shoes. Below, you can shop similar items at various price points. My necklaces are mostly vintage, but I found similar designs- I'm especially taken with this one.
Also, you can always DM me on instagram if you have questions about where I got something, how the sizing was, etc. :)
